The hardware and software I work with.
One machine, one screen, and four printers acquired by accident. The printing section is the one worth reading, because it is what AMS-X is built against.
Hardware
- MacBook, M4, 16 GB
- Everything is built and profiled on it.
- Samsung 34-inch ultrawide
- One screen. Editor on the left, whatever it is talking to on the right.
Editor and terminal
- VS Code
- No strong opinions about it, which is the point.
- kitty
- Fast, and it gets out of the way.
- zsh
- The default, largely unmodified.
Everyday software
- Woven
- Speech to text. I think out loud faster than I type, so the first draft of most things is dictated and then cut down.
3D printing
- Bambu Lab P1S ×2
- The two that do most of the work, and the pair AMS-X is developed against.
- Bambu Lab A1
- Bed slinger, better with larger single-colour parts.
- Bambu Lab A1 Mini
- Small prototypes and test prints.
- PLA and PETG
- PLA for most things, PETG when a part has to survive heat or a drop. Both need drying more often than you would expect.
